Internships
For people who may want to work in the field of animal welfare, what better way than to do what you love while gaining hands-on experience? We currently offer two programs: a five-week general animal care internship and a longer, more in-depth, species specific four-month animal care internship (offered for dog and cat areas at this time). The programs are open to individuals ages 20 and over who may be pursuing a career in an animal-related field or perhaps considering a career change.
2013 five-week general animal care internship dates being offered:
Session 1: January 21 - February 22, 2013 (CLOSED)
Session 2: April 8 - May 10, 2013 (CLOSED)
Session 3: May 20 - June 21, 2013 (CLOSED)
Session 4: July 1 - August 2, 2013 (CLOSED)
Applicants will be notified of acceptance by May 3, 2013.
Session 5: August 12 - September 13, 2013
Deadline for applications to be received is May 17, 2013.
Applicants will be notified of acceptance by June 14, 2013.
Session 6: September 23 - October 25, 2013
Deadline for applications to be received is June 28, 2013.
Applicants will be notified of acceptance by July 26, 2013.
Session 7: November 4 - December 6, 2013
Deadline for applications to be received is August 2, 2013.
Applicants will be notified of acceptance by September 6, 2013.
Applicants will be selected based on their responses to the questions and involvement in local animal shelter or welfare issues.
