The Virginia Kincheloe Spay/Neuter Clinic is now a reality and has ushered in a new era for animal welfare for our area. Never before have spay/neuter services been available to the public at such a low cost. The clinic is a progressive step toward ending the system of mass euthanasia to control animal overpopulation.
Here's a brief description of our facility and how we would like to expand our services to provide spay/neuter services to even more animals in the future. Donations are always welcome. The need is great.
Spotsylvania County government has graciously donated 400-sq. ft. within its new animal shelter to become the spay/neuter clinic. It includes 4 rooms, a reception area, holding and recovery room, surgical preparation room and the surgery. We anticipate this space to be adequate for the care of 10 dogs and 15 cats per day of operation. More animals can be accommodated if additional cages can be purchased or donated.
LionHearts, Inc. hopes to expand its low-cost spay/neuter services in the future, either by opening satellite clinics in the surrounding counties and city or by purchasing a mobile spay/neuter van that travels to remote locations. We anticipate the Virginia Kincheloe Spay/Neuter Clinic will be a huge success and that the need for expansion will be recognized and met within the next several years. We encourage other county governments to contact us to work toward a better future for all companion animals.
