South Lake Animal League, Inc.

South Lake Animal League, Inc. "SLAL", located in Lake County, FL is a 501(c)3 non-profit, no-kill animal rescue organization. SLAL has been helping save companion animals since 1988 and has helped over 4,000 animals find their forever home. For 21 years, SLAL has strived to educate the citizens of Lake County on the importance of being compassionate, responsible pet owners through education, and adoption.

South Lake Animal League has maintained a strong volunteer base of loyal, compassionate people that provide foster homes for the animals. The foster home volunteers not only care and feed the animals, they also teach every animal the much needed social skills necessary that will help them become better pets for their future family. All animals at SLAL receive proper veterinary care, is sterilized and micro-chipped.

In August, 2009, SLAL had their groundbreaking ceremony to begin construction of "A Haven Before A Home Adoption Center". The facility will be located on 22 acres in Groveland, FL and will be built in four phases, with Phase One being completed in January, 2010. Upon completion of the four phases, "A Haven Before A Home Adoption Center" will be an 18,000 square foot facility that can comfortably house 225 dogs and cats.
