Katie Trennepohl
Katie Trennepohl has worked in animal welfare in Indianapolis and surrounding areas since 2004. She returned to Indianapolis Animal Care Services in August 2016 with the goal of making Indianapolis a no-kill city.

Katie worked at the Humane Society for Hamilton County Indiana (HSHC) from 2007 to 2016. While at HSHC, she managed the medical department and was later promoted to director of operations. During her time there, the shelter increased their live release rate and is now proudly a no-kill shelter.

In addition to her work at the humane society, she has volunteered on the committee for the Indy Mega Adoption Event. Prior to working at HSHC, Katie worked for the City of Indianapolis as an animal control officer. During her time as an animal control officer, she volunteered with local animal welfare groups such as IndyFeral and F.I.D.O.

Katie graduated from Purdue University with a degree in animal science. She shares her home with her husband, daughter, and two dogs.
