Lisa Norwood

Public Relations and Outreach Manager

Lisa Norwood
Lisa Norwood had that common childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian, but college and a glaring inability to do simple math took her in a different direction.

Lisa worked as a TV journalist for more than a dozen years in both Texas and Arizona, where she was always on the lookout for animal-friendly stories (and strays!). Something told her to turn down another television job in the hope that something better would come along. And it did … in the form of a dream job doing public relations for the City of San Antonio's animal shelter.

Using her media savvy and "street style" marketing, Lisa has helped propel San Antonio Animal Care Services onto the national stage with features in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, National Geographic and CNN, as well as thousands of stories with local media.

Lisa has several companion animals, including a Labrador, two Mexican hairless dogs and four tolerant (but not amused) cats.
