Director of Operations and Strategic Projects

As Director of Operations and Strategic Projects for Best Friends Animal Society, Teresa Bodem manages special projects related to Best Friends' work to achieve no-kill by 2025. Teresa previously held the position of Comprehensive Campaign Director, in which she managed capital projects and campaign fundraising. Prior to this role, Teresa built and managed the corporate and foundation relations department at Best Friends.

Teresa began her career in animal welfare when she led fundraising and held a position on the board of directors for the local humane society while attending Indiana University for her undergraduate degree. Teresa currently sits on the board of directors for the Snip Foundation, an international spay/neuter initiative that provides low-cost services to developing countries. Teresa's previous work experience includes development and program senior roles at the American Diabetes Association, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, Make-A-Wish Foundation International, and Family Health International.

Teresa has two master's degrees in business, from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland and the University of Toronto in Canada, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University. In 2010, Teresa moved from Washington, D.C., to Kanab, Utah, where she currently resides with her family.
