Fenway is eager to be brave and loves to learn new things. She's shy and fearful with strangers at first but is working on her confidence. She loves water, so in the summer she sits in her baby pool for a good portion of the day. Because she also loves all things soft and fluffy, she likes to collect her blankets in one big pile to sleep on.
Born in 2016, Fenway is a distemper survivor. She came to Best Friends from a shelter in New Mexico as a puppy mom. She loved playing with her puppies, and she now enjoys playing with other adult dogs. She also loves to do agility with her doggie roommate and will follow him around the agility course. She would do great in a home with another friendly dog who could help show her the ropes and help boost her confidence.
Fenway is currently doing a lot of confidence and trust training at the Sanctuary. She is a willing learner, especially if you reward her with yummy treats, and she is learning that new people, walks and car rides are all good things. She has already picked up on leash walking and is learning basic training cues such as 'sit' and 'down.' Fenway would do best in a home with a person or family who understands shy dogs and can give her time to adjust and progress at her own pace. She is looking for someone who can give her a little guidance and show her that the world can be a fun and safe place.
