AZ: Increase access to veterinary care in Arizona

Pets are family, and sometimes family members need a doctor's visit. With a national veterinarian shortage, it can be difficult to find and schedule a timely appointment. That's why we must do what we can to increase the number of veterinarians in Arizona.

Arizona Senate Bill 1271 would establish an Arizona Veterinary Loan Assistance Program within the Arizona Department of Agriculture.

Veterinarians would receive up to $100,000 in tuition assistance in return for working full-time in Arizona for four years, with at least two years working in a designated veterinarian shortage area or a nonprofit or municipal animal shelter.
