CAMPAIGN ENDED; Ask the Colorado Agriculture Commission to reject a harmful rule.

As currently written, a new rule being considered by the Colorado Agriculture Commission would have a harmful impact on shelters, rescue groups, and animals in the state.

Sections of this proposed rule — related to the Care of Dogs and Cats in Pet Animal Facilities Act (Colorado House Bill 1160, passed in 2021) — are not consistent with the lifesaving intent of the Act and should be revised before being approved.

Specifically, the proposed rule fails to include intended protections for unsocialized cats and by broadly labeling normal behaviors as "aggression," could prevent many pets in shelters from leaving alive.
