MD: Help expand access to routine vet care
Image

The US is experiencing a shortage of veterinarians, making access to routine care and vaccinations more difficult for both pet owners and animal shelters.
Removing legal barriers can help.
Maryland House Bill 325 / Senate Bill 390 would allow additional (trained) individuals who work at animal hospitals/shelters to administer rabies vaccines, freeing up veterinarian resources for more demanding services.
Out-of-state veterinarians would also be allowed to provide routine care in Maryland.
