------

Currently, responsible pet owners are being denied home/renters insurance coverage simply because of the way their family dog looks. This can make it difficult for these dog owners to find and keep housing for them and their pets.

Homeowners/renters insurance companies can deny coverage, drop paying customers, and even charge higher premiums based solely on a pet's assumed breed - regardless of that pet's individual training and behavior.

Nevada Senate Bill 103 would stop this practice since there is no scientific evidence that certain breeds are inherently more dangerous than others.

Responsible pet owners with well-behaved dogs should be able to get homeowners or renters insurance without their dog's appearance playing a factor.
