Elizabeth Reed, Best Friends Planned Giving Officer for the Southeastern region, with a dogElizabeth Reed
Planned giving manager, Southeastern region

I was an animal advocate in elementary school, where I passed out hand-drawn flyers to classmates and encouraged them to spay and neuter their pets. My love of animals has not wavered since. I originally learned of Best Friends through the DogTown television show and thought it would be an amazing place to work. At the time, I was working for a university alumni association and spent more than a decade of my career in higher education. While it was great to help students achieve their dreams, I never lost my desire to help animals. In 2014, I was thrilled to be hired as a planned giving officer for Best Friends, an organization that I admired so much. It is an honor to be able to help people fulfill their legacy wishes and learn about the animals and people who have inspired them throughout their lives.

I live in sunny Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, with my husband, Jerry, and our crew of rescued furred and feathered pets: Bowden, a Boston terrier mix; Rocco, a mostly mini-pinscher; and Emmy and Petey, a pair of cockatiels.
