Monica Krieger, CSPG
Planned giving officer, Pacific region
As a child growing up in Brazil, I always loved animals, but I didn’t begin working in animal welfare until later in life. In fact, I started my career in higher education. After earning my bachelor’s degree in speech therapy, I received my master’s degree in education. And while teaching at a college, I became a certified specialist in planned giving from the American Institute of Philanthropic Studies, under license to California State University, Long Beach.
I first learned about Best Friends in 2012 while working as a major gifts/planned giving officer for my local Humane Society and SPCA. Then in 2016, I was fortunate enough to become part of the Best Friends planned giving team, where I get to hear people’s stories, learn about their passion for animals and help them experience the joy of saving animals’ lives, while fulfilling their charitable intents.
I live in picturesque South Pasadena, California, with my husband, Spencer, and our two dogs, Max and Nala.
