When you register for Strut Your Mutt, you can choose to register as an individual or start your own team to support the animals of Best Friends, or you can join a participating Best Friends Network Partner team. 

Fundraising as a team 

To get started, the team’s captain will register your team  to participate in Strut Your Mutt. Once your team is registered, spread the word about your team and start asking friends, family and co-workers for their support.  

Fundraising as an individual 

To get started, register as an individual, then start raising funds for homeless pets by asking friends, family and co-workers to support your in-person or virtual walk.  

All participants have unlimited access to these helpful guides and tools. To see them and get started, just register and log in as a participant.

This year, ResQWalk is integrated with Strut Your Mutt, so you can now track your ResQWalks and mileage inside your fundraising center.  

The benefits of ResQWalk

When you download and use ResQwalk, you can track your miles and raise additional funds through the monthly ResQpool.

The top performing participant on ResQwalk (animal included) will be featured on ResQwalk social media channels. And as an added bonus, you can use the app to post cute photos of your pets to share with fellow ResQwalkers.

ResQwalk for teams

You can encourage your team to download and use ResQwalk by offering incentives such as raffles or other prizes. Then, challenge your team members to match your mileage with dollars and get friends and family to donate a dollar a day for every mile walked leading up to Strut Your Mutt.

We’ll give you challenges throughout the fundraising season that will earn you some Best Friends swag, badges and well-deserved bragging rights. Here’s a list of some of the fun challenges you can choose from:  

Personal fundraising challenge 

During the first month of registration, donate $50 to your personal fundraising page to win a Best Friends Animal Society swag item (to be announced soon). 

Homestretch challenge  

Raise an additional $100 in the final week of fundraising (October x-x) and receive an exclusive prize from the Best Friends store. 

ResQWalk challenge  

We will feature the top performing ResQwalker (animal included) on ResQwalk social media channels.  

72-Hour challenge  

Raise $30 in three days for Strut Your Mutt and get a special gift from Best Friends 

Recruitment challenges  

Grow your team challenge: Recruit 25 or more team members from August 1 through August 10 and your team will be entered to win one of three cash prizes.
