Pacific Regional Manager
Sheila McLalin is currently the Pacific regional manager for Best Friends. She is working to help achieve a no-kill nation by 2025 by collaborating with leaders in the western region to improve the save rate along the Pacific coast.
Sheila started out as a dog caregiver at Best Friends and eventually helped establish and manage volunteer and foster programs for Best Friends’ two pet adoption centers in Los Angeles. Her previous role as regional engagement manager included overseeing the collaboration between Best Friends in Los Angeles and the NKLA Coalition, in-shelter lifesaving programming within Los Angeles Animal Services through intervention and client service programs, and Best Friends’ large-scale events and community outreach.
Sheila began her career in animal welfare as a volunteer for Los Angeles Animal Services, which sparked her passion for the cause. Years later, she is using her experience to influence the lifesaving work that’s being done across the Pacific region.
