Communications manager for Best Friends Animal Society–Utah Programs

Kim McDanielA lifelong animal lover, Kim McDaniel started volunteering with animal welfare groups and discovered Best Friends shortly after moving to Utah more than 20 years ago. She regularly visited and volunteered at the Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah, before finally making the jump from the news industry to work for Best Friends last year. She is the communications manager for Utah programs, overseeing marketing, outreach and social media for Best Friends Animal Society–Utah, the Best Friends Pet Adoption Center in Salt Lake City and the NKUT (No-Kill Utah) initiative.

Kim is also a wildlife and nature photographer, and she travels extensively with her husband of 22 years. They have a house full of adopted cats and a rescued Pomeranian named Mr. Fox, who, despite a lack of thumbs, maintains his own Facebook page.
