In March 2008, Aimee Gilbreath joined Michelson Found Animals as its first fulltime employee and executive director. Aimee has been responsible for developing and implementing the organizations wide range of innovative programs that span from traditional philanthropy to social enterprise. These programs include a national microchip registry, adoption services, animal advocacy, resources and support for pet owners. Found Animals also offers grant funding for medical breakthroughs in nonsurgical spay and neuter methods and provides support for other animal welfare organizations that has helped over 1.5 million pets. Under her leadership, Aimee has grown the social enterprise nonprofit from one employee Aimee herself to 70plus and created a volunteer network numbering over 1,000 people who donated over 60,000 hours of service in 2018. In Los Angeles, Found Animals operates two retail adoption centers that have adopted out over 25,000 animals, as well as a kitten foster program. In 2018, Aimee partnered with Mars Petcare and RGA to create the Leap Venture Studio, the first startup accelerator to springboard innovation in the growing pet technology ecosystem. Aimee is a former management consultant with Boston Consulting Group and has significant experience leading teams to solve business problems for Fortune 500 clients. She holds a B.S. in molecular biology and an M.B.A. Aimee lives in West Hollywood, California, with her family and two beloved pit bull mixes, Ricki and Ralph.
