Alex Tonner is the president/founder of Paws For Life K9 Rescue. With more than 14 years of experience in the rescue community, she has become a leader in finding new and innovative ways to impact and save the lives of animals. Alex has created multiple rehabilitative training programs in correctional settings that have impacted hundreds of human and animal lives. This achievement includes programs that target underserved populations of people by providing service dogs to military veterans, first responders and victims of violent crimes. These life-changing programs have been recognized by media outlets, politicians, advocacy groups and foundations that have wholeheartedly supported the work. Most recently, Alex has followed her life-long dream and developed the Paws For Life People and Pet Innovation Center (PPIC). The PPIC is the first facility of its kind to provide training support, private sessions and group classes specifically designed to help the public for free. The PPIC continues to grow and is actively relieving overcrowded shelters by providing state-of-the-art kenneling, socialization and enrichment environments that promote and increase adoptions.
