Community Cat Program Manager
Destiny Haney is the Community Cat Program Manager for Best Friends Animal Society. She currently oversees community cat programs in the city of Los Angeles and Riverside County in California. These lifesaving programs keep community cats out of municipal shelters. After nearly a decade of working in the L.A. cat rescue community, Destiny joined Best Friends in 2010. Destiny has regularly taken on new challenges to create proactive resources and to produce positive outcomes for the animals, especially cats. Prior to her current role, she assisted with opening the Best Friends Pet Adoption and Spay/Neuter Center in Mission Hills, joined in launching the NKLA initiative, and established Best Friends’ L.A. kitten nursery, which saves thousands of kittens annually from L.A. city shelters. At home, Destiny takes care of her menagerie of special pets, including her dog with no nose. In her spare time, she volunteers as a weekend host and mentor for older children in the foster care system as they work to find adoptive families.
