Northeast Regional Director
Elizabeth Jensen is the Northeast regional director for Best Friends, after previously serving as the executive director for Best Friends in New York. In this capacity, Elizabeth coordinates lifesaving collaboration across the 10 states of the Northeast region and heads up New Yorks local program work, including Best Friends East Coast super adoption and Strut Your Mutt events. Elizabeth also oversees operations at the Best Friends Lifesaving Center, located in the heart of SoHo. The center is designed to be a national lifesaving concept space that showcases adoptable dogs and cats from multiple regional 501c3 organizations and the New York City sheltering system. Elizabeth works closely with the Best Friends Network specialist in the Northeast to drive lifesaving and spur collaboration. Prior to coming on board with Best Friends, Elizabeth worked for 17 years in a leadership capacity at Bergdorf Goodman, an iconic New York City luxury retailer. She graduated from Rutgers University with majors in political science and medieval studies. A Best Friends supporter and volunteer for more than 15 years, Elizabeth currently lives in Connecticut with her rescued dog, Scout, and her rescued standardbred racehorse, Music.
