Jill Dyche is a business leader, author and shelter animal advocate. She was cofounder and managing partner of Baseline Consulting, a pioneer management consulting firm specializing in data analytics. Since her firm was acquired by SAS Institute in 2012, Jill has balanced a successful career as a software executive with her passion for animal rescue. In 2014, Jill and some colleagues in the tech industry began videotaping dogs at highkill animal shelters in Southern California. These dogs were at risk for euthanasia, many of them ill, disabled or senior, and thus deemed unadoptable. Jill and her team began keeping data on these dogs. Analysis revealed that videotaping them and sharing their stories on social media resulted in lower euthanasia rates. In 2016, Jill founded Outta the Cage outtathecage.org, a nonprofit focused on giving urgent shelter dogs more visibility. Outta the Cage also provides inspiration and best practices for networking shelter animals, offering fieldproven tips for successful advocacy, adoption, foster and networking. They also advise shelters, rescue groups and corporate executives on ways to apply emerging technology to animal rescue. Information Week named Jill one of 'The 12 Most Influential Women in Big Data and Data Science,' and Retail Leader pronounced her one of their '2017 Women to Watch.' Inc. Magazine recently listed Jills fourth book, The New IT, as one of its 60 Great Business and Leadership Books Written by Women. Jill lives in Los Angeles with three rescued dogs and a revolving set of foster pets.
