Kelsey Keys

Senior Strategist, Web Marketing

The Humane Society of the United States

Kelsey began working with shelter animals in 2010. She got her start like many in the industry doing the dirty work (cleaning up the poo) at a local animal shelter and at a veterinary office. Her love of the animals she worked with launched a career in animal welfare communications creating events and programs at her local animal shelter, and then working for organizations such as the SPCA of Texas and PetSmart Charities. After a brief hiatus doing marketing for many big brands at an advertising agency, she found her way home to animal welfare. Forfive years, Kelsey worked as the development manager and the marketing and communications manager for Operation Kindness in North Texas, fundraising, planning events, working with donors and doing all the downright fun marketing things for the organization. She also served as a marketing advisor to Villa Michelle in Puerto Rico, alongside Maddie’s Fund and HSUS, and she serves on the advisory board for Bulldog Rescue Squad. Now, she has started a new adventure as the Senior Strategist of Web Marketing for the Humane Society of the United States. A true millennial, she grew up with social media and loves sharing her knowledge with others to help save more lives. When she’s not working, Kelsey enjoys teaching yoga, traveling and hanging out with her “naughty” cattle dog, Ed, and her FIP warrior and TikTok-famous cat, Bruno.
