Kim Vrooman is the executive director of the 63-year-old Belleville Area Humane Society, located in Belleville, Illinois. She possesses decades of servant leadership experience including earning a master's degree in theory of communication and composition, and most recently a post graduate certification from Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis in developing and leading effective teams.A lifetime member of the Girl Scouts, Optimist International and the American Legion Auxiliary, she is a community and business leader who is a proponent for social equity and inclusion, and believes in radical hospitality.Accolades for Vrooman include being named a Phenomenal Woman by Racial Harmony 501(c)(3). She was also nominated for the Regional Arts Commission CAT Institute, the 2018 Class of Honorees St. Louis Women of Achievement and the Leadership Illinois Class of 2019 and 2020.
