Denise Deisler joined the Jacksonville Humane Society (JHS) in September 2011. She immediately built bridges, developed productive partnerships, increased revenue while reducing expenses, and recruited a new board of directors. New programs like Kitten Krusaders, a pet help center for retention and intervention, and a focus on community engagement resulted in achieving no-kill community-wide by 2013. Denise led the campaign to replace the JHS shelter that burned to the ground in 2007 and raised $15 million. She also oversaw the design and construction of the new 44,000-square-foot facility. JHS moved into the new center in November 2017, 10 years after the devastating fire. Denise serves on Best Friends Animal Society’s No-Kill 2025 Steering Committee and leads the Florida Lifesaving Steering Committee. She’s honored to be a member of Leadership Alive! and to participate in leadership groups for Petco Foundation and Nestle Purina.
