Audra Michael

Director

Pinal County Animal Care and Control

Audra Michael started her career as an animal control officer in 2011 and quickly moved up to field supervisor then finally (in 2015) director of Pinal County Animal Care and Control in Casa Grande, Arizona. As director she has worked to improve the image of the animal control officer (ACO) — to be perceived as a resource (not a hindrance). She takes great pride in changing this perception from much more than just dog catchers to the heroes that they are in the communities they serve. Audra will show how just taking a few steps forward can catapult the image of an ACO out of the past and into a bright new future, as well show how to create a better image for them in the communities they serve.
