With a decade of professional experience in fundraising, Gina Barker is dedicated to sharing compelling stories that connect people to meaningful causes. For the past four years, she has worked closely with foundation partners to support Best Friends’ goal to take the country to no-kill by 2025.Before her time in the nonprofit sector, she was a reporter and editor at The Park Record in Park City, Utah, covering business, education and the Sundance Film Festival. Her work has also appeared in the Associated Press, The Salt Lake Tribune, Deseret News, and The Hollywood Reporter.In 2013, Gina joined a small, Utah-based charity in child welfare. As the development director, she created innovative and successful strategies to recruit new donors, increase community involvement and promote brand awareness. More recently at the University of Utah's Moran Eye Center, she brought her skills in researching, cultivating and stewarding foundation and corporate partners to support ending curable blindness across the globe.Gina lives in Ogden, Utah, with her husband, William, her daughter, Autumn, and two very energetic dogs, Loki and Ada.
