Liz FinchNational Community Cat Program Director 

Liz Finch started her career in animal welfare in 1997 as a volunteer for several cat rescue groups and Los Angeles Animal Services. In 2000, she co-founded a nonprofit cat rescue organization and by 2005, she made the decision to switch from writing for medical publications to working in animal welfare full-time.

Liz has worked for Best Friends since the fall of 2005. She started her career as an animal help specialist, answering questions from individuals about animal care and welfare, and now serves as director of national programs. She oversees the management of Best Friends’ community cat programs in shelters around the country and the Best Friends Network, which provides support to animal welfare organizations in the form of grants, consulting, marketing materials and other resources aimed at bringing the country to no-kill by 2025.
