Baltimore Humane Society

The Baltimore Humane Society (BHS) was founded in 1927 by Elsie Seeger Barton. BHS operates a no-kill animal shelter; a low-cost Spay/Neuter & Pet Wellness Center; the Nicodemus Memorial Park pet cemetery, which also offers free bereavement services to the public; and a 343-acre protected wildlife sanctuary. BHS provides Humane Education programs to schools and youth groups, and is an Open Paw pilot shelter.
