WAGS Fund is a registered 501c3. Our group of volunteers and pet advocates work tirelessly to rescue, vet, foster, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs and cats in the Houston area. We rescue adoptable dogs and cats that are abandoned or likely to be euthanized in area shelters, foster them, raise funds to allow for transitional boarding until fosters are available, fully vet animals, market them, and in some cases, provide behavioral and/or obedience training. Misunderstood Mutts Rescue (MMR) is a registered 501(c)3, volunteer based organization serving the greater Yakima Valley, greater Portland area, and Puget Sound region. We are dedicated to saving abandoned, free, and throwaway dogs in areas where abuse, neglect, and cruelty are prevalent.
MMR places dogs in temporary foster homes where they are vetted, spayed/neutered (when medically sound), socialized, vaccinated and any medical/behavioral issues are addressed. MMR actively searches for adoption (and foster) homes by posting on various adoption websites, our own website, and social media. We strive to place the right dog with the right family and our process requires not only an application, but a home check, references, a meet & greet, and a representative from MMR performing proper introduction techniques.
Lampasas Community Cats-TNR (LCC-TNR) is dedicated to improving the lives of abused, abandoned, feral, stray, and injured Cats in Lampasas Texas and its surrounding areas. We do not take in owner released animals, but instead focus our efforts into helping un-owned, stray and feral cats and kittens through Trap-Neuter-Return(TNR). We also support community and feral cats through other community outreach effors. LCC-TNR will respect and show compassion to all animals. We will work to improve the lives of abused, abandoned, feral, stray, and injured cats. We will promote spay and neuter programs, promote Trap, Neuter, and Return as the most humane method of effecting postive change in feral cat populations, provide educational and informational assistance to the public. The Animal Refuge Center (ARC) is a private, non-profit, no-kill animal welfare organization and sanctuary located in North Fort Myers, Florida. In the 29 years since ARC's inception in 1988, ARC has grown to become the largest no-kill sanctuary located in Southwest Florida and services Lee and surrounding counties. Our mission focus is to reduce the homeless pet population and euthanasia rates in our area through education, outreach, community programs, and collaboration with other animal welfare government and non-government organizations. ARC does not euthanize for behavior or treatable illnesses/injuries and often takes in animals in need of urgent or prolonged medical care. DC Shiba Inu Rescue (DCSIR) is a group of dedicated volunteers whose mission is to rescue, foster, vet and train neglected, homeless, abandoned and stray Shiba Inus. It also works with owner surrenders to help keep Shibas in their current home or to foster and rehome via its extensive adoption process. DCSIR is committed to prioritizing the intake and placement of Shiba Inus in the immediate DC metropolitan area and may assist in the rescue effort for Shiba Inus and mixed breeds across the east coast as circumstances allow. Joey’s Elder Paws Rescue’s H.E.A.L. Sanctuary is located at a bucolic farm in upstate New York. We rescue and provide a safe haven to our older and bonded canine companion animals, giving them a second chance at life. We also run Joey’s Fund, which is committed to helping families with pets stay together for life and reducing the number of senior and bonded dogs in shelters in the NY Metropolitan or Tri-State area.
