Our mission is to actively facilitate and support the humane treatment of feral cat colonies This will include participating in Trap Neuter and Return (TNR) of feral cats, seeking medical attention for cats that are ill or hurt, setting up feeding stations for anyone willing to feed a colony on a daily basis, trapping kittens and finding foster homes to socialize them and training others to do the same.

In 2007, a group of concerned individuals formed the 501 (c) (3) called River Valley Animal Welfare Coalition, now calledFriends of KittiesKanines, out of the concern for pet overpopulation in the River Valley community. This group saw the need to stop the cycle of the millions of unwanted births and euthanasia of cats and dogs in the community. They realized that the main reason people do not spay/neuter their pets is due to the high cost or having no access to spay/neuter services. Friends of KittiesKanines works to fund KittiesKanines Veterinary Clinic to provide the community with high-quality, low-cost spay/neuter services, as well as vaccinations and microchipping. This would only be possible through the generous grants, fundraisers and donations from the community.

Peaceful Animal Adoption Shelter, a regional resource, is committed to the welfare and wellbeing of dogs and cats. We are innovative in our well-managed, interlocking programs and services. We collaborate with other organizations and institutions. We are a valued first responder in animal abuse interventions. We educate and serve pet owners so they can better care for and keep their animals.
