The City of Hollister Police Department & Animal Control Bureau provides animal control services within the city and county, and is responsible for impounding stray or lost animals, cruelty investigations, rabies control, dog license sales, lost pet reports, 24-hour emergency services, enforcing local and state ordinances, operation of the animal shelter, educational programs, and administering the animal adoption program.
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization operated by a Board of Directors. A caring, dedicated staff and number of volunteers handle the daily operations of the shelter. At the shelter we welcome and encourage visitors and group tours. We are always happy to educate and share what we do with our shoreline community.
Our Mission is to save unwanted, sick, abused, and abandoned senior dogs from ending up in our local shelters by providing a “Senior Scenter” for each of them to live out their golden years with loving care, dignity, and all the comforts of home. Our 11 acre property is also home for younger special needs dogs and farm animals who would otherwise be deemed unadoptable and killed due to their special needs.
Peak Lab Rescue is a community of like-minded individuals working together to end dog homelessness in North Carolina. Our Mission is to save Labs and Lab Mixes from abuse, neglect, abandonment and high-kill shelters throughout the state. Our vision is to see every Lab in North Carolina in a permanent home where they receive love, shelter, food, water, and regular veterinary care.
Keep our pets food bank is dedicated to preventing domestic pets from entering the shelter system and allowing pets to remain in the home of their pet parents. We assist with food equipment and veterinary care as funds allows. We also educate and assist help to homeless pets in our community.
Pet Project Foundation's mission is to enhance the quality of life for all companion animals in a pro-humane manner through compassion, responsibility, education and service. We provide assistance to the San Clemente-Dana Point animal shelter (also known as Coastal Animal Services Authority - an existing BF Network Partner), and provide our animals a safe & loving refuge while they wait for their forever homes.
We are a sanctuary--a 2,000 square foot house--with a full-time live-in caregiver for senior dogs (age 10 or older) who have not found homes through shelters or rescue groups. We have sometimes adopted out, but mostly we provide rest-of-their-life care for old dogs who are often regarded as a bit too infirm or too expensive to be good candidates. Like Best Friends, if we cannot find the proper home, we provide safe and loving surroundings, no crates or kennels but plenty of beds and couches, for the rest of their lives.

This is accomplished via stellar relationships with our rescue partners, transport, veterinary care, fund raising, education, and the love and concern of our many fosters and adopters.
The Humane Society of Wilkes is dedicated to reducing the number of homeless, unwanted, and neglected companion animals in Wilkes County, NC. We support pet owners and prospective owners with programs that promote adoption, spay/neuter, and other resources for the community. The Humane Society of Wilkes also works closely with Wilkes County Animal Services and local veterinarians to help prevent suffering and improve the quality of life for animals.
Austin Boxer Rescue rescues dogs from public shelters and individual owners who can no longer care for their dogs. Dogs in ABR’s care are transported, fed nutritious food, provided with clean, comfortable shelter, medical, training, rehabilitation and kind human interaction. With ABR, rescued dogs regain their health and trust in people, prepare for family life and join carefully screened adoptive families.
Starlight Outreach and Rescue was named in honor of Emma Starlight Hyde, a volunteer and foster, who was just 14 years old when she passed away unexpectedly. Emma’s bright caring spirit continues on in this organization as we support the efforts of Houston-area shelters to provide a better quality of life for stray and abandoned animals, medical attention, and fostering and rescue services for animals with special needs.

Second Chance Cocker Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)3 California corporation. We are an all volunteer, Cocker Spaniel rescue, finding loving homes for Cocker Spaniels in need across California. All our dogs receive a vet exam, vaccinations. spay/neuter, heart-worm testing. They are behavior tested so we can best match the dogs to the families. We offer sanctuary homes to the older or chronically ill dogs.
Second Chance Animal Rescue is a non profit organization dedicated to rescuing cats and dogs who have run out of time at public shelters. Our efforts focus on the rehabilitation and permanent placement of the animals we rescue, providing them a second chance at life.
