The Tucker County Animal Shelter is a county-operated No Kill shelter. We continually strive for the best possible outcome for each individual animal that enters our care. We focus on helping the community with TNR, spay/neuter assistance, adoption placements, and resources to serve the underserved. Our humane officer completes welfare checks as well as animal cruelty investigations and is trained to assist people in the best care for their pets.

We are a German Shepherd Dog Rescue with a main focus of saving Shepherds in high kill, low traffic shelters across Texas. Our secondary focus is community outreach making them aware of the situations we face in shelters, while educating the public to reduce the stigma around the breed. We are a 100% volunteer based group.

The Fix Our Ferals mission is to humanely end overpopulation of cats and dogs in Contra Costa and Alameda Counties in the San Francisco Bay Area's East Bay.We provide affordable spay-neuter for all cats and dogs to community members and animal rescue organizations.And we provide a very reduced rate for community cats.We are also expanding the safety-net for at-risk cats and dogs throughout the two counties by offering low-cost surgeries.This helps low-income community members keep their beloved pets.Additionally, we collaborate with municipal shelters by promoting and providing spay-neuter to prevent turn-ins of cats and dogs to the shelters, and by helping shelters with spay-neuter overflow, so shelter animals can be adopted or released from the shelters sooner.

In January of 2011, Life is Better (LIBR) started a partnership with Denver Animal Shelter and Control to create a program that would allow animals considered medically at risk - those that are pregnant, nursing with babies, or orphans under 2lbs or 8 weeks - to escape the municipal environment via transfer to LIBR's foster program, thus decreasing illness and mortality rates.
