AAHA, established in 2001, is a 501(c)(3) Non Profit Organization dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We have a particular commitment to the Pit Bull, and aim to raise awareness and education about this very misunderstood breed of dog. We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals and animal control, advocating for any animal in need. We work against cruelty to animals in all its forms. AAHA supports SpayNeuter initiatives in our local community. We're a Pit Bull-friendly animal rescue.
In recognizing the need to have a city animal shelter that serves as a true resource for the people and animals of Baltimore, the city has reorganized its animal shelter into a 501(c)(3) non-profit and renamed it the Baltimore Animal Rescue & Care Shelter (BARCS.) In addition to receiving funding from Baltimore City, BARCS now has the critical ability to raise private funding from the community and enhance its volunteer efforts.
The Furry Paws Foster Inn is a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of abandoned, homeless, and owner-surrendered cats, kittens, and dogs. We also help our community by informing the benefits of TNR for their community cats.
The Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League, Inc. (MAGDRL) was organized in 1979 to serve the seven states of the Mid-Atlantic region. MAGDRL is staffed completely by volunteers. Like all humane groups, MAGDRL is in the unique position of helping both humans and pets. In our case, the pets are Great Danes and mixed Danes and the people are those who want the companionship of the breed, or often, just dogs in general.
Cat Rescue of Maryland, Inc. (CROM) is an all-volunteer non-profit organization founded in 1993 in Baltimore, Maryland. CROM's mission is the humane management (rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of tame cats/kittens and vetting/continued feeding of the unadoptables) of feral cat colonies in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Howard County, and Harford County in the state of Maryland.
Tara's House is a private, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and an all-breed dog rescue.Our mission is to rescue and provide care and compassion for our pets while working to place them in permanent, loving homes.Tara's House has a dual approach to rescuing companion animals:1) we rescue from many local Maryland shelters, where we focus primarily on rescuing the harder to place dogs, such as those that are older, injured, or those that suffer from unwarranted breed discrimination; and 2) we rescue all breeds of dogs from high-kill shelters in rural areas with little to no funding for their own adoption programs.

The Feline Rescue Association is a 501(c)(3) rescue organization operating out of foster homes in the Baltimore area. We work with stray, abandoned and feral cats through rescue, adoption, and spay/neuter. Founded June 2007, the Feline Rescue Association works with street cats in some of the worst neighborhoods in Baltimore. We also pull cats who are facing euthanasia. We are dedicated to helping the abandoned cats of Baltimore, one cat at a time.

Founded in 1946, The Humane Society of Harford County, Inc., is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) open admission municipal animal shelter, dedicated to the welfare and well-being of the approximately 3,000 animals that come to us each year. Our mission is to promote the humane treatment of homeless, stray and abandoned animals by providing shelter, care, adoptions and community education.
The mission of Shadow Cats TNR is to establish and manage programs for the welfare of community cats, companion animals, and pet owners needing assistance, in collaboration with other community partners, rescue groups and shelters. We specialize in Trap-Neuter-Return and as a result we often acquire, along with feral cats, friendly and semi-friendly cats and kittens. We work to place these cats into appropriate homes through adoption and barn cat programs.
Laurel Cats is a community effort to find and implement ways for feral community cats to live safely alongside people, their homes, and their businesses throughout Laurel, MD while humanely reducing their numbers. We offer Trap-Spay or Neuter-Return assistance for feral cats in all of Laurel's counties in addition to providing help to feral cat colony caretakers and providing low income residents help with getting their pets fixed.
FlyDogz-Puerto Rico is dedicated to helping find Satos (mixed breeds from Puerto Rico) a "freedom" flight to NY, NJ, and Florida. We work with local rescues/independent rescuers in Puerto Rico, who rescue and rehabilitate stray and abused dogs from the island. We work tirelessly to connect our rescue partners with people traveling to and from Puerto Rico, helping to rehome dogs in the United States.
Chesapeake Cats and Dogs, operates on the eastern shore of Maryland and rescues animals in seven Maryland counties. We operate an adoption center for cats, and run a limited dog program through foster and kenneling efforts. We have a 5-7% special needs population, including seniors and special medical needs animals, and are on a continuous mission to expand our effort in the no kill rescue.
The mission of the AACSPCA shall be to serve as the leading private nonprofit organization within Anne Arundel County, which exists to protect companion animals from acts of cruelty and neglect.
