Mont Belvieu Animal Services is a city department tasked with enforcing the city's animal ordinances and working to eliminate animal-related problems within the city. We house animals that are found running at large, relinquished by their owners, or confiscated. Our mission is to attempt, within reason, to return animals to their owners or find adoption placement for each animal, while providing the best care possible during their shelter stay.
The mission of Bay Area Pet Adoptions is to shelter companion animals that we have rescued from kill shelters/animal control facilities and individuals until permanent homes are found for them. We provide education and community outreach, focusing on ways to reduce the number of unwanted companion animals and their euthanization. We also offer a low-cost vaccination clinic by appointment.
S.A.V.E Rescue Coalition was formed to help animal rescue groups in the Houston Metro area to work more effectively for the purpose of reducing the homeless pet problem through Spay/Neuter, Adoption, Volunteering and Education. The Homeless Pet Placement League (HPPL) is a nonprofit animal welfare organization that provides for the rehabiliation and adoption of stray and abandoned dogs and cats. The HPPL does not operate a shelter; animals are cared for in the homes of those who rescue them. The rescuer serves as the foster parent until the animal is adopted into a permanent home.
Schnauzer Rescue of Texas (SRT) was founded on the principle that responsible rescue, in the long-term, finds homes for the largest number of lost, neglected and abandoned Schnauzers. Animal Alliance of Galveston County's mission is to eliminate the death of cats and dogs in Galveston County and surrounding areas due to overpopulation and infectious diseases by providing education on responsible guardianship and accessible, affordable spay-neuter and wellness services.
We believe that every homeless pet deserves a second chance. The Galveston County Animal Resource Center staff works very hard to make that dream a reality. We are the largest shelter and only open-intake facility in Galveston County taking in approximately 5,000 animals each year. We serve the following cities: Texas City, La Marque, Bayou Vista, Hitchcock, Kemah, Tiki Island, and the unincorporated areas of Galveston County.
Hairball Sanctuary LLC was established in 2016 as an initiative to rescue and provide assistance to felines. It officially became a 501c3 nonprofit organization in 2021. Our primary objective has been to rescue and offer support to the feline community, including both cats and their caregivers.
Our facility primarily accommodates felines that require medication and extensive medical care due to chronic diseases or immediate illness. Additionally, we collaborate with other rescues in the community to organize adoption events.
