'Tide is turning for dogs

The Los Angeles Riptide, a professional lacrosse team, has scheduled a special promotion benefiting the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary at the team’s July 28 home game against the San Francisco Dragons.

The Riptide has joined with The Pet Staff to give fans and dog lovers the opportunity to bring their four-footed friends to the Home Depot Stadium for a night of lacrosse and other fun events.

The Pet Staff is the largest professional in-home pet sitting, dog walking and dog training service in California.

Each dog must pay $5 for his or her ticket into the game. The dog’s person gets in free, although he or she may make an optional donation. Family and friends of the pooch or person pay $18 for a general admission ticket (or $12 each for groups of 12 or more).

Dog ticket sales, optional donations and $5 of all guest sales will be donated to Best Friends.

Among the night’s highlights are:

- dog adoptions by Best Friends volunteer foster parents,

– dog village, with pet-related vendors and free goodies,

– an "ask the dog trainer" booth,

– T-shirt and flying disc give-a-ways,

– on-site raffle with exciting prizes, including Riptide tickets and tickets to the city’s other professional sports teams.

Tickets are limited so hurry and fetch them before it’s too late! For more details go to //www.thepetstaff.com/riptide.php. You must register online by July 27 to purchase tickets.
