[CAMPAIGN ENDED] Ask your Iowa representatives to support and pass HF 651.
UPDATE: As of May 5, 2023, this bill failed to advance. Stay tuned for future opportunities to support this effort and thank you to all who advocated on its behalf!

Responsible dog owners should be allowed to care for whatever breed of dog they choose.
Breed-based dog laws are outdated, costly to enforce, and have been proven ineffective at keeping communities safe.
Iowa legislators are considering a bill (HF 651) that would prevent local governments from adopting or enforcing breed-specific legislation (BSL) statewide.
Twenty-two states have passed similar provisions because breed-specific ordinances violate basic property rights, fail to enhance public safety, and are expensive to enforce.
