Animal internships and other intern opportunities
Best Friends Animal Society offers a variety of internship opportunities for those interested in gaining hands-on experience with animal care or those looking to gain experience in the field of animal welfare in various capacities outside of direct animal care. Internships are offered at our Sanctuary in Southern Utah and around the United States.
Volunteer (unpaid) internships for college students and people pursuing animal careers
Best Friends internships are open to college students, undergraduate (including freshman) and graduate students, as are other candidates who have equivalent life and work experience with animals and those looking to make a career change. Intern programs are open to people ages 20 and over.

- General Animal Care Internship - 5 Week Program:
Our General Animal Care Internship is a 5-week program for people who are interested in hands-on work with animals in a sanctuary setting. Interns spend one week in each of the following animal areas: Dogtown, Cat World, Horses/Pigs, Parrots, and Rabbits. Participating in the daily routine of the sanctuary gives interns an excellent opportunity to learn about animal care, socialization of animals, animal behavior and animal rescue.
