Take a free guided tour through Angel Canyon

Volunteer shifts must be scheduled as far in advance as possible. Each animal area has a maximum number of volunteers it can accommodate during each shift. To get started, please visit volunteers.bestfriends.org or contact the Sanctuary Volunteer Department at volunteers@bestfriends.org or 435-644-2001, ext. 4119.

We truly appreciate the wonderful work our volunteers do towards making a difference in the animals’ lives and would love to welcome you as a volunteer.

Ready to experience the magic of Angel Canyon? Let us be your guide. Enjoy a driving guided tour led by one of our knowledgeable Sanctuary Ambassadors. We have no doubt that you'll fall in love with the canyon and the over 1,600 animals that call this place home. (Reservations highly recommended from March-October.)

Grand Sanctuary tours

*Seven days a week,* closed Christmas Day
*8:30 a.m., 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m.*

These two-hour tours begin at the Best Friends Welcome Center every day of the week. You’ll watch a brief video and then board our van for a 90 minute ride.  You will go inside a cat building to interact with a few cats and then on to a dog building where one dog will be brought out to visit in Dogtown. You will see other Sanctuary sites from the tour van. Please register in advance online or by phone, as the word is out about Best Friends and our wonderful work.

If you are looking for an extended furry fix, as we are a working sanctuary, you will certainly want to volunteer for that hands on experience with the animals.
