Join SUPERGIRL and be a hero for homeless pets

Home is more than a place — it’s love, laughter, and the feeling of belonging.

This summer, DC Studios’ SUPERGIRL arrives in theaters from Warner Bros. Pictures for an epic journey, alongside her faithful companion Krypto the Superdog. And just as Krypto found his home with Kara Zor-El, thousands of dogs and cats are waiting in local shelters for their very own hero — and their own place to call home.

At Best Friends, we’re working to bring no-kill to every shelter in every community nationwide. Thanks to the work of caring people like you, more than 2 out of 3 shelters in the U.S. have reached that important milestone. And together with you, we can bring no-kill to the entire country.

So please join SUPERGIRL and Best Friends this summer. Adopt, foster, donate, or volunteer — because every action brings a pet in a shelter closer to home. And to those dogs and cats, home is more than a place: Home is wherever you are. Home is who you share it with. Find your Krypto, and find love, laughter, and a new best friend today.

No-kill is within reach, thanks to you

With your help — whether you adopt, give, volunteer, or use your voice to protect animals — we'll end the killing in America's animal shelters.

In just the first half of 2025, lifesaving for dogs and cats in U.S. shelters jumped 19% compared to the same time period last year as public support and momentum for no-kill shelter programs continues to grow across the country. This is a solvable issue, and you can be part of the solution.

Adopt your very own Krypto at a shelter near you

This summer, DC Studios’ big screen SUPERGIRLfrom Warner Bros. Pictures takes flight in theaters around the country — and her loyal companion Krypto the Superdog is at her side.

Just like all dogs in shelters, Krypto was searching for a home before he found his best friend, Supergirl. Best Friends is proud to partner with DC Studios to bring that story to life and to remind the world that there are thousands of dogs and cats in shelters — real-life Kryptos — still waiting for a superhero of their very own.

Home is more than a place. It’s love, laughter, joy, and the feeling of belonging. So, when you adopt a dog or cat from a shelter, you’re not only giving them a home — you’re finding yours, too.

Together, SUPERGIRL, Best Friends, and pet lovers like you are working to save the lives of dogs and cats in shelters in every community in the country. So, adopt your very own Krypto. And together, we will Save Them All.

Warner Bros. Discovery has worked in partnership for years with Best Friends, committed to making a bright, safe future for homeless pets nationwide.

About Best Friends Animal Society

Best Friends is working to end the killing of dogs and cats in U.S. shelters in part by getting more pets out of shelters and into loving homes.

We’ve come a long way since the first known city reached no-kill in 1994, and now we’re closer than ever to making the entire country no-kill. Of the roughly 3,900 shelters operating in America today, 1,300 of them are not yet no-kill, but nearly half are close with 100 or fewer additional pets to be saved, and we know what to do to get them there.

Best Friends is committed to working with passionate people like you to save homeless pets through adoption, volunteering, fostering, and advocacy. In addition to our lifesaving centers around the U.S, we also founded and run the nation's largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals.

Working together, we can save homeless pets in our communities and secure a better future for our best friends. Together, we will bring the whole country to no-kill.
