Vashon Island Pet Protectors, establecida en 1984, trabaja todos los días para mejorar la calidad de vida de los animales de compañía en Vashon Island. Vashon Island Pet Protectors, cariñosamente conocida en toda la isla como VIPP, es una organización de rescate de animales 501c3 sin fines de lucro y que no mata, dirigida por voluntarios compasivos y amantes de los animales.
