Rose Potts

I’m Rose Potts, a Manager, Embed Project Operations at Best Friends Animal Society. Growing up in rural Utah, I developed a deep love for animals early on and has shaped my career for over seven years in municipal animal sheltering. I’ve had the privilege of working in nearly every role, from kennel care and animal control to serving as a shelter director. These experiences have reinforced my dedication to lifesaving work and my commitment to continuous improvement - for the animals, the staff, and the communities we serve.

Animals have always tugged at my heartstrings. While my passion is rooted in advocating for and protecting animals, I also deeply value the way animals enrich human lives. Their presence brings comfort, healing, and joy—and I believe that by helping animals, we’re also helping people live fuller, more connected lives.

At home, my husband and I share our lives with two high-energy dogs and two very opinionated cats. The cats definitely rule the household (and graciously allow us to live there), while the dogs are always ready for any kind of adventure—whether it’s a quick car ride or a backpacking trip.
