Erica Chandler
Erica began her career in animal welfare in 2021 at the Louisiana SPCA. She started as their Community and Animal Support Associate responsible for intaking animals, reuniting pets with their owners, distributing pet food through their pantry, facilitating visits with court case animal owners and completing adoptions. Erica was there in September of 2021 during Hurricane Ida where she performed as an emergency responder at the open admission shelter. Shortly after, she transitioned to Humane Law Enforcement Officer where she completed emergency calls, complaint mitigation, court cases, investigation, and animal welfare checks in Orleans Parish. Erica took her final position at the LASPCA as their Communications Coordinator where she performed live news segments weekly, submitted articles to local news outlets and ran social media programs.
Erica started at Best Friends Animal Society in April of 2023 and is now a Regional Strategist focusing on helping shelters increase live outcomes through training opportunities, in person summits, national webinars, and personalized strategies.
