Network Neighbors Lost Pet Yard Signs
Every year, nearly 10 million pets go missing — but shockingly, only 20.2% of dogs that enter shelters make it back to their families.
That’s why Best Friends Animal Society is teaming up with local shelters to reunite lost dogs right in their neighborhoods, keeping them with their families and saving more animals’ lives.
So, how can you support this project? It’s simple: Best Friends has sent yard signs (in both English and Spanish!) to your local shelter. The signs feature QR codes directing users to Petco Love Lost — a free, user-friendly database that helps lost pets get back home.
Start by reviewing the local heat maps below to see where stray dogs are most commonly found in your community. Then, head out to those areas and ask home or business owners if they’re willing to display a yard sign to help bring lost dogs home.
You won’t be doing this alone.

Once you’ve placed the yard signs, send photos of them and their approximate locations to neighbors@bestfriends.org so we can track where support is growing and celebrate your impact.
