Sophia Proler
Sophia Proler is the South Central regional director for Best Friends Animal Society. For the past decade, she has worked in municipal and non-profit animal shelters ranging from an annual intake of 300 to 22,000. Before working in animal welfare, Sophia had a career in public relations in Miami and New York. After several years of representing global brands, she pressed the reset button and moved to New Zealand to work with retired racehorses. Returning to the US, she found her calling in connecting people with pets! In her current role, Sophia enjoys launching and growing reduced-barrier adoption and foster programs and supporting communities during disaster and disease outbreak response. Sophia lives in Texas with her husband and myriad of injured, sick, or underage pets they are fostering.
