Best Friends has been working in LA for more than a decade, and in 2012 we opened the Best Friends Pet Adoption & Spay/Neuter Center in Mission Hills.

Best Friends is also leading NKLA (No Kill Los Angeles), a coalition of dozens of rescues & shelters working together to end the killing of dogs and cats in city shelters.

Best Friends started No More Homeless Pets in Utah in 2000. After adopting 330,000+ animals and fixing 230,000+ more, Utah is forging ahead to no-kill.

Our work focuses on increasing adoptions, creating access to free and low-cost spay/neuter, and collaborating with Utah shelters, rescue groups, and local governments to save lives.

Best Friends is partnering with the Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department to humanely trap/neuter/release outdoor cats to reduce the population.

Jacksonville, FL

Best Friends four year partnership in Jacksonville helped bring annual shelter deaths from 20,000 to 7,700. Thanks to our partners First Coast No More Homeless Pets, Jacksonville Animal Care and Protective Services, and Jacksonville Humane Society, the city is well on its way to no-kill.

Pup My Ride

Pup My Ride transports at-risk dogs from LA shelters to other communities where they have the time they need to find families. The program has saved thousands of lives thanks to:
