Trap-neuter-vaccinate-return (TNVR) programs humanely reduce the population of stray cats over time and reduce the number of cats entering shelters.

Ending breed-restrictive insurance practices in Texas

Currently, responsible owners of particular breeds or mixes of dogs are charged extra insurance premiums, are denied insurance coverage or may have their policy canceled by their insurance company.

These decisions are based on what breed the dog appears to be, not the dog’s behavior. The practice of using breed as a predictor of risk is unsupported by reliable data.

We’re working to issue regulations to stop breed restrictions by insurance companies operating in Texas. Consumers should not have to be underinsured or uninsured because of their dog’s breed, or be forced to give up their dogs to have affordable renters or homeowners insurance.
