Special Criteria

Once Harvey gets to know and trust you, he'll want to be with you all the time. He's had a rough past, so he needs to know he's safe with you before he opens his heart. Harvey has worked hard to gain confidence when meeting new people. Meeting new people is much easier for him now, especially if they follow a simple routine that makes him feel more comfortable. He still feels a little intimidated by groups and can be slightly nervous with fast movements or loud noises, but he's a lot more comfortable overall. Harvey goes for walks with Dogtown volunteers, and he likes to show off his agility skills. He also loves to visit the Dogtown dog park to splash around in the pool and to play fetch, especially when he can retrieve sticks out of the water. A smart boy who learns quickly, Harvey solves food puzzles at mealtimes and enjoys frozen Kong treats. He is great with cats, and he can walk calmly past dogs and to have supervised play dates with other dogs at the Sanctuary. However, he will need to be the only dog in the home. Born in 2015, Harvey is a lovebug who enjoys snuggling and belly rubs. He does like to keep busy, though, so he'd do best in an active home. He'll make a wonderful hiking or adventure partner for an active person. This dog is featured as part of our BLISS (Behavior Lifelong In-home Support System) Program. Through this program, you will receive pre-and post-adoption training advice from one of our behavior consultants, as well as a training plan specifically tailored to the dog's transition into your home. As an added bonus, this dog's adoption fee is waived and if a flight home is needed, that's free as well!
