We provide education and resources to assist people in better caring for their animals. We do this by disseminating information about animal care, spreading the word about educational events, and providing assistance as needed in difficult circumstances.

Tara's House is a private, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and an all-breed dog rescue.Our mission is to rescue and provide care and compassion for our pets while working to place them in permanent, loving homes.Tara's House has a dual approach to rescuing companion animals:1) we rescue from many local Maryland shelters, where we focus primarily on rescuing the harder to place dogs, such as those that are older, injured, or those that suffer from unwarranted breed discrimination; and 2) we rescue all breeds of dogs from high-kill shelters in rural areas with little to no funding for their own adoption programs.

We save dogs from over crowded high kill Long Island and New York City shelters. We also established two cat colonies in Queens (FlushingBellerose)and look for foster care for our rescue animals. Furkids is Georgia's largest no-kill, cage-free animal shelter. On a daily basis, we care for over 500 cats and dogs. In addition to our cage-free shelter, we operate seven full-time retail adoption centers through our partnership with Petsmart and Petco. The mission of Hounds in Pounds, a 501c3 public charity, is to end the killing of thousands of adoptable dogs in the United States daily. We work as a team, we communicate from sunrise to sunset and there are so many moving pieces that make our team a success. Each dog we pull to safety is a member of our team as well and to be clear we are working for them, these dogs are our fearless leaders and we look to them for hope, inspiration and sometimes the strength to keep going.

Tabby Tales saves and places over 100 cats each year, many arriving with illness and infection. These precious lives are all loved and cared for in foster homes, where they are nursed back to health until they are adoption-ready. Our dream is that each cat will have a loving forever home. We also endeavor to support efforts in our community to end pet homelessness. We encourage TNR where permitted and aim to teach our community about responsible pet ownership.

Proverbs 1210 Animal Rescue began as a group of volunteers who rescued, fostered and placed abandoned animals under the guidance of Lavonne Redferrin and became a 501c3 in 2006. Proverbs places over 550 animals annually. We foster cats and dogs in homes with occasional boarding if a foster is not available or training is needed for behavioral issues.

Feline Fund will be the first nonprofit solely dedicated to supporting local cat organizations by providing funding for education, business development, connectivity to other rescues, TNR resources, exposure, and access to veterinary services.
