We take in all domesticated owner surrenders and strays within the County and provide food, water, shelter, medical care, exercise, and love for all animals.Animals are adopted out to the public, after attempts are made to locate their rightful owner. We are reducing our euthanasia rate by finding the best new homes for all adoptable animals who come into the shelter. Animals are adopted out locally and nationwide.

Our organization is run by a Board of Directors and is an all volunteer group. 100% of donations go to rescue, rehabilitation or adoption of abandoned and abused animals in Pulaski County. We work with our local County-run Shelter to transport animals to rescues throughout the eastern U.S. and Canada. Wyandotte, MI

The main goal of the Wyandotte Animal Shelter (WAC) is to find forever homes to the cats and dogs that are in our care. Once an animal is surrendered or completes the state mandated stray hold at the intake facility, Downriver Central Animal Control the cat or dog is transferred to the Wyandotte Animal Shelter. Once there they are taken to a spay/neuter clinic for surgery, along with a rabies vaccination and a heartworm or combo (FIV, FeLV) test. If the animal is need of veterinary care, the non-profit Pound Pals Downriver will cover the costs of that animals needs. They are under the care of (WAC) until they are adopted.
