Operation Catnip, Raleigh, NC, operates one no-charge clinic per month (funded through donations). Feral and community cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, and returned to their colonies and caretakers. All cats have the tip of their left ear cropped to identify them as sterilized. The clinics are staffed entirely by volunteers (veterinarians, vet technicians and trained lay people).
